About João Rodrigo Santos
With a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto (2009), João Rodrigo Santos has a master's degree and a degree in Chemistry (Scientific Branch) from the Faculty of Sciences of the same institution. Since 2016, he has worked as a researcher at REQUIMTE, as part of the associated laboratory LAQV Porto.
His scientific career includes the publication of 35 original articles in international peer-reviewed journals, two book chapters and one patent as first author. He is currently the coordinator of a funded R&D project and an integral member of four other research and development projects.
His main areas of research centre on the analysis of coffee, the development of low-pressure chromatographic systems with amperometric detection and the creation of alternative techniques for the extraction of volatile and non-volatile compounds. He also specialises in the construction of electrochemical detectors and their coupling to flow systems.
