About Joana Wilton
Joana Wilton holds a PhD in Basic and Applied Biology from the University of Porto. With over 10 years of experience as a researcher, her career has led her to live in four European countries – an experience that, intriguingly, has deepened her appreciation for the quality of coffee in Portugal. In 2023, she launched “Prima tás de Bata,” a platform dedicated to science communication, and since February 2025, she has been working as a freelancer. Her mission focuses on making scientific knowledge accessible and engaging, bridging the technicality of research with clear and authentic language.
